Janet Hoffman Marks

Janet Hoffman Marks of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 27th, after a courageous battle with cancer that took her far too soon. She went home to be with Jesus with her husband of 44 years, Bill Marks, by her side, with her daughter Heather and son Ryan close by.

Janet was born in Waynesboro, Georgia on October 1, 1963, to Robert Hoffman and the late Doris Hoffman. Janet embodied what it meant to be a loving, graceful, selfless, and devoted wife, mother, and woman of faith. She poured herself into her family and found deep fulfillment in her career at Emory University, where she served with the same warmth and dedication she brought to everything she touched.

Janet is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Marks; her children, Heather and Joseph Otwell, Ryan and Morgan Marks; seven grandchildren, Paislee, Micah, Parker, and Mason Otwell, Rosa, Palmer, and Ozzie Marks; her father, Robert Hoffman and Valerie Hoffman; and her three sisters, Kim, Beverly, and Allison. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia. Dr. Bob Jolly will be officiating. A graveside service will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Above all she loved Jesus with all her heart and found peace in her faith, a faith she has instilled in her family that will ripple for generations to come.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Cumming in her name or to Emory Winship Cancer Center in her memory. https://securelb.imodules.com/s/1705/giving/index.aspx?sid=1705&gid=3&pgid=600&cid=1358&appealcode=W3DAR
