Obituary
Jaylyn Reese Fehr, 17, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on April 6, 2026. Born on October 14, 2008, Jaylyn was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend whose life, though far too short, was filled with deep love, faith, and joy.
Jaylyn was a junior at Horizon Christian Academy, where she had been a student since first grade. She was an honor student who approached her education with dedication and quiet determination. Outside the classroom, she had a deep love for volleyball playing both for the Varsity team at Horizon and for A5 Gwinnett Volleyball Club. She played with passion and a competitive spirit that reflected her drive and heart which earned her All-Region honors and named MVP at Horizon. Volleyball was more than a sport to Jaylyn. It was one of the many ways she connected with others and expressed her determination, heart, and love for teamwork. She also found joy in music and expressed her creativity through all of her artwork.
Her faith was an important part of her life. Jaylyn attended church at Local Church Forsyth and youth group at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta and attended Vertical Reality 2025 youth conference, where she grew in her love for the Lord and built meaningful friendships grounded in faith.
Jaylyn was known for her kind and gentle spirit. She was loving, smart, funny, and witty, with a quiet shyness that gave way to a warm and vibrant personality once you knew her. She was beautiful inside and out, generous, peaceful, and a true friend to all. She had a way of making others feel included, valued, and loved. Her heart for people was genuine and lasting.
She deeply loved her family and treasured the time spent with them. She also adored her cats, Chloe and Cash, who brought her comfort and happiness.
Jaylyn is survived by her mother, Lynne Fehr; her father, Jason Fehr; her grandparents, Carol and Jay Fehr, Carole Pettijohn, and Susan Brooks; her aunt, Erin Driscoll; and her cousins, Drew Goldman, Logan Driscoll, Lucas Driscoll, and Liam Driscoll. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Brooks.
Jaylyn’s life was a light to everyone who knew her. Her faith, kindness, and love will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A celebration of life will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Local Church, 3105 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
