Jerold Michael Hughes, Sr.

Jerold Michael Hughes, Sr., 71, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023. A native of Forsyth County, Jerold was known and loved by many. He was a lifelong boat mechanic and had a huge heart that cared and loved so hard for so many. He had a precious soul that attracted all who knew him. He loved the water in any place, would sleep on the beach any day, and had a passion for boats that couldn't match any other. Jerold is preceded in death by his son, Jerold Michael “Bo” Hughes, Jr.; parents, Theo and Priscilla Hughes; brother and sister-in-law, James and Jean Hughes and a sister-in-law, Juanita Hughes.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Bert Ledbetter, Christina and Derrick Fambro; grandchildren, Lukas, Wesley, Erica, Buckey, Hevana, Jeremy and D.J.; several great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Hughes; and his longtime companion, Angela Harmon, Zachary and their family; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service.
