Jewell Milford Bennett, age 82, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away at his home on April 14, 2026.
Born on May 13, 1943, Milford lived a long life shaped by hard work and dedication to his craft. A highly skilled welder, he was known for his mechanical mind, attention to detail, and the pride he took in doing things right. His work reflected a level of precision and care that made him respected and sought after in his field. He was also a pilot and enjoyed flying, a pursuit that reflected his independence and skill.
He was known for his straightforward nature and firm presence, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Sallie Milford Bennett, and his son, Paul Bennett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Anne Bennett; daughter, Robin (Scott) Allen of Dawsonville, Georgia; son, Allen (Amanda) Bennett of Dahlonega, Georgia; and daughter-in-law, Nacie Bennett of Nelson, Georgia.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Sarah and Michael Torney; Paige and Jason Knight; Christian and Camille Allen; Casey Martin; Thomas Bennett; Major Bennett; Kaleigh Bennett; and Zane Bennett.
His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Katie, Daniel, Ethan, Hope, Grant, Grace, Luke, Faith, Mahaley, Kynzli, and Asher.
He is also survived by his stepson, Daryl Martin; Daryl’s children—Nathan Martin, Macie and Blake Freeland, Chase Martin, and Gracie Martin; and great-granddaughter, Jacie Mae, all of whom shared in many years of family life with him.
Milford is also survived by his siblings: Douglas Bennett (late Linda), Sabra (Dan) Freeman, Thelma (late Gene Thomas), Rita (late J.D. Thomason), and Juanita (late Alvin Beasley).
Milford’s life was defined by the experiences he lived, the work he took pride in, and the family he was part of. He will be remembered by those who knew him and carry forward the memories of time spent together.
Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, April 17, 2026, at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Keith Martin officiating.
