Jimmy (Rocky) Brackett Jr.

Jimmy “Rocky” Brackett, 59, of Cumming, Ga, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

 

Rocky was born in Cumming, Ga on September 29, 1964. Rocky graduated from Forsyth County High School (Class of 1982) Rocky enjoyed working on our grandparents farm when he was growing up. He attended Gainesville College until he went to work for General Motors Parts Division for 15 years until the Doraville plant closed. He worked for General Motors in MS but came back to his home and family after one year. He loved the outdoors and finally went to work at Atlanta Urban Farms. Rocky was a strong man, excellent fisherman, deer hunter, a NASCAR fan (Dale Earnhardt fan) and a big time Ga Bulldog fan. He was a caring and wonderful friend and had several lifelong friendships. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. He loved his family with all his heart. 

 

Rocky enjoyed the outdoors and that was where he spent time talking with God. The great outdoors was his “church”

 

Rocky was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Brackett, Sr. ; Grandparents Ed and Lieu Weda Brackett, Eugene and Bonita Croy,; Aunt Brenda Voyles and Uncle Jackie Brackett.

 

Survivors include his mother, Janice Croy Brackett, his constant companion and caregiver sine he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in 2019. Sister and brother-in-law, Neena and Matt Payne; brother Cloyce Brackett. Nieces Kendra and Clarissa Payne. Aunt Barbara Mischiara. Cousins Lee, Caroline and Ashlyn Mischiara; Lori, Traci, Caleb and Jason Holbrook; Shelley and Chris Stone; Tripp and Val Brackett; Eddie, Anna, Saber and Raiden Brackett. 

 

Special friends surviving are Taris Riggs, Brian & Kim Webb, Malcolm and Margaret Patten, Sherry Keith, Mary Ann Miles, Teena Hubbard, Bret and Cindy Bowlin, Kimberly Reid, David Brighton and Pat Bagwell. 

 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday November 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Reverend Lee Mischiara and Matt Payne officiating. Visitation will be held Friday November 3, 2023, from 6-8 PM and Saturday November 4, 2023 from 11 AM until time of service at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, Ga
