Jo Ann Rakestraw Butler

Jo Ann Rakestraw Butler, 71, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024. A native of Forsyth County, Jo Ann was a caring individual who loved her Lord, reading her Bible and going to church. She worked over 20 years as a floral designer at Lanierland Florist. Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Butler and her parents, Herman and Ellene Rakestraw.

 Surviving are her daughter, Jessica (Steven Jett); sister, Patricia Rakestraw Hamby; niece, Amanda Hamby (Jeff) Davis; nephews, Paul (Jennifer) Hamby, Greg Butler; great niece, Ellie Davis; brothers-in-law, Stanley (Nancy) Butler, Terry Butler and a number of cousins and other relatives.

 Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

 The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday and Friday from 2:00 TO 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
