Joan Audrey Cook

Joan Audrey Cook, 90, of Cumming, GA, formerly of North Little Rock, AR passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023. Joan was born in Cambridge, England to the late Reginald Harry and Maisie Hunt Clark.  Joan was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed being a homemaker. Her family meant everything to her. She was sweet natured, loving, self-sacrificing and she loved to laugh and found the humor in any situation. She had a way of making everyone she met feel like they were part of the family.  Joan loved animals, especially her two Yorkshire Terriers, Daisy and Sarah, who were her companions for many years. She took great pleasure in knitting and crocheting blankets, scarves and baby outfits for her loved ones.  In recent years, Joan especially enjoyed watching her flowers bloom, the birds, squirrels and deer all from her kitchen window while sipping on her cup of tea. She will be greatly missed and there will be a void left in our hearts until we meet her again in heaven.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hugh Cook, her son Nigel Gilbey, and her brothers Cecil Clark, Don Clark, Jack Clark and David Clark.

Joan is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Kerrie and Brad Porter; daughter and son in-law Lynne and Mick Maltby; daughter and son in-law Sandra and Gary Hardman; daughter Jane Winningham; her brother Brian Clark and his wife Christine; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Austin Houston officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
