Joan Garrett Thompson

Joan Garrett Thompson, age 80, of Cumming passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Rev. Charles "Bo" Thompson; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Sheila Thompson and Everett and Natalie Thompson, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Brittany Thompson (Johnathan) McGowan, Hannah, Nathaniel and Ethan Thompson; great grandchildren, David, Emily and Ava McGowan; sister, Marion (Mrs. Harold) Poss of Marietta. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 21st, at 10:00 a.m. at Sawnee View Gardens with the Rev. Alex Moon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Gideons.
