Joan Denham Port

Joan Denham Port, 76, passed away Friday Oct. 7, 2022. 

Joan was the eldest daughter of Guy & Bertie Denham and grew up in St. Francisville, La.  She graduated from St. Francisville High School, and in later years became a graduate of Louisiana State University. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy Denham and Bertie Bourgoyne Denham; husband, Robert R. Port; and Grandparents Matthew & Anona Bourgoyne.  Survived by her daughters, Rayn, Shelby, Tara & Crystal, her sister Kay Bourgeois, as well as 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Joan was a dedicated Army wife, avid crafter, loving homemaker, and retired school teacher from West Feliciana Parish High School where she also mentored and instructed JROTC.  She was a mentor to many students, grandchildren, and youth that came in her path.  She was fiercely loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday October 13, 2022 at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Castleberry officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.
