Joann W. Matthews, age 88, of Cumming, GA passed away June 10, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady & Lola Pearl Welch, husbands, Clarence Nalley & Matt Matthews, brothers, William Welch & Charles Welch and sisters-in-law, Betty Welch, Patsy Welch & Martha Welch. A member of Friendship Baptist Church, she loved being outdoors and hiking.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita (Ronnie) Rickett, Janet Shoemake, sisters, Dr. Janie Sue Baxter, grandchildren, Justin (Erin) Rickett, Jacob (Sydney) Rickett, great grandchildren, Baleigh Grace, Reese & Ruby Rickett. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
