JoAnne Gibson Williams

JoAnne Gibson Williams of Marietta, GA passed away peacefully September 3, 2022, at the age of 81. She was born February 9, 1941, in Sontag, Mississippi. JoAnne was the youngest daughter of Agnes Keene and William Purvis Gibson. She attended Mississippi State College for Women and then married Michael C Williams October 2,1961.

JoAnne was an avid golfer, having made three holes in one that she was very proud of and winning numerous local club tournaments. She was also very active in the local tennis scene, playing doubles and mixed doubles on ALTA for many years. JoAnne was most recently involved in a bowling league at the Roswell Brunswick Bowling lanes. She loved volunteering at Chastain Park Amphitheater as an usher where she watched many great concerts while helping people get to their seats. She never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation with anyone.  She lived in Marietta for over 30 years.

JoAnne is predeceased by her former husband, Michael C. Williams. She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Karen and Ricky Voerg; her son and daughter in-law, Cam Williams and Enie Vaisburd; and her two grandchildren Daniel and Jonathan Williams. She also leaves behind her precious kitty Daisy, whom she loved dearly.
