John “Bill” William Adams

John William Adams (Bill) of Cumming, GA passed away on Jan 22, 2023. 

Bill was born on February 24, 1936 to Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Frank Adams in Macon, GA. After high school Bill attended Georgia Tech and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He then served in the United States Army. Following his service, Bill went on to receive his masters degree in electrical engineering at NC State University. Bill is survived by his wife Anita, of 64 years; son Steve Adams and his wife Apryl; daughter Laura Hinsdale and her husband Grover; son Mark Adams; Bill’s grandchildren Melissa Adams; Kyle Adams and wife Thanh; Bobby Hinsdale and wife Abby; Luke Hinsdale; and Kelsey Hinsdale. He is also survived by six great grandchildren. 

Bill had an extremely distinguished career in the telecommunications industry where he contributed greatly to its success and advancement. As a lifelong avid fisherman, Bill felt most at peace on the lake with a lure in the water.  He was very involved with his church in Charlotte and most recently a member of First United Methodist Church of Cumming. He will be remembered for his faith, generosity, kindness, witty sense of humor, and most importantly, the love he had for his family. 

A service will be held at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on Friday January 27, 2023 at 2:00pm. Visitation beginning at 1:00pm.
