John Kenfield Kruse

Emblem

In loving memory of John Kenfield Kruse of Cumming GA, known affectionately as Ken, Uncle Kenny or the little boy with the golden curls. He peacefully passed away on February 2, 2024, while listening to his favorite song, “Take Me Home, Country Roads”. Ken was born on July 23, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio and led a life filled with love, service, and cherished hobbies.

He proudly served in the Marines from 1955 to 1958, demonstrating his commitment to duty and his country.

Ken had a long career with Hyatt Hotels in Atlanta, GA.

Ken is survived by his wife, Shirley, and will be deeply missed by his children: Jeff Kruse (Sidnie), Janell Kruse James (Keith), Jackie Kruse Deese (Greg), Jimmy Kruse (Lisa) and stepdaughter, Lisa Corwin (Chuck). His memory lives on in the hearts of his grandchildren Belinda Turner, Marlies Guest, Todd Hudson, Jessica Kruse, Shannon White, Katie McClure, Casey Johnson, Allie Kirk, Taylor Walldorff, Drew James and Addison James, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ken was more than a devoted family man; he was also an avid stamp collector with an admirable collection that reflected his passion for detail and history. His basement housed an extensive model train layout, a testament to his love for craftsmanship and dedication to hobbies.  He was a member of the Cobb County Stamp Club and the Piedmont Model Railroad Club.

Ken is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Kruse, his father, Arthur Kruse, mother, Jane Kruse, and his sister, Virginia Babos. As we mourn his loss, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and honor his memory by embracing the love and hobbies he so passionately shared. May he rest in peace.
