John Wayne Tucker

John Wayne Tucker, age 85, of Cumming, GA, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

He was born in 1939 to the late John and Beatrice Tucker of Tallapoosa, GA. John was preceded in death by his siblings Rachel Marks, Randy Tucker, and Geraldine Lassiter. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elaine, son John, daughter Melisa (Chris), grandchildren Lucy Zurzolo (AJ), Rhett Watson (Lily), Ansley Hamilton, Rafe Hamilton, and great-grandson Cash Zurzolo, with great-granddaughter Presley on the way. In addition, he is survived by sisters Eloise Lively, Janna Martin, Sara Whitman, and several nieces and nephews.

John was a proud U.S. Army veteran and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed bird hunting and fishing. He was an ardent motorsports fan and had a vast knowledge of cars, along with a fondness for mid-1950s Chevrolets. Following a long career in the insurance industry, he retired to spend time with his family and enjoy maintaining his home and landscaping.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Ingram Funeral Home for remembrance and visitation on Tuesday, May 20th from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 21st at noon in the Chapel with interment to follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens with Rev. Lee Gaddis officiating.

In remembrance of John, the family requests donations to Quail Forever, the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes or the Wounded Warrior Project.
