Joseph Cox

Mr. Joseph Cox age 79 of Riverdale, GA passed away November 4, 2015 following a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Joe was born January 27,1936 in Walhalla, SC. He was a Veteran of the US NAVY and served as a Machinist's Mate on the USS Lexington. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator from IUOE Local 926 after 48 years of active membership. He was also a member of the Riverdale Masonic Lodge #709.


Joe is survived by his wife of 18 years Julia Dean Cox of Riverdale; son Greg Cox (Terie) of Sharpsburg, GA; daughter Marla Cox of Forsyth, GA; Ernest Dean, deceased; Lisa Dean of Riverdale and Ginger Hellinger (Tony) of Orlando, FL; sister, Kathy Youngblood of Winfield, AL. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren - Crystal Mack (Anthony) of Carrolton, GA; Audrey Jackson (Gavin) of Newnan, GA; Faith Johnson of Lawrenceville, GA; Michele Dean of Seattle, WA; Jordan Dean and Faythe Hellinger of Orlando, Fl and Rayne Hellinger of Roswell, Ga. and 2 Great Grandchildren - Lucian Dean and Yoite Mack.
