Joseph "Sonny" Martin, 84, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Sonny retired from Fulton County after 30 years of service. He was a hard-working man who provided for and loved spending time with his family, even if it was just sitting on the back porch watching NCIS with his grandchildren. Sonny will be terribly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Genie and Chris Watters; grandchildren, Magen Hogan, Kyle Hogan and Cortney Garrigan; great-grandchildren, Daniel Bangs, Korey Yeary, Oliver Hogan, River and Reece Garrigan; great-great-grandchildren, Willow and Thomas Yeary; brothers and sisters, Brenda and David Pluemer, Gail Coleman, James and Suzie Martin, Martha and Robert Phillips, Jane and Charles Turner, Audie Martin and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30, at 1:00 PM in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
