Joyce Carolyn Millwood, age 76, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family. Born in 1950, Joyce was raised in Gainesville, Georgia, where she built a life rooted in strong values.
Joyce was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Marshall Millwood of 58 years, and a proud mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children and their families: Beth (Todd) Skinner; Becky Millwood; her cherished grandchildren, Jacob (Megan) Millwood, Katie Beth (Nick) Barr, Timmy Millwood, Savanna (Alan) Thomas, and Sierra Skinner; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Maverick, Maebry, and Chaplain Millwood, Judd and Boone Barr, and Case Thomas.
She is also survived by her siblings, Mavis (Dean) Burtz, Hilda (Buddy) Smith, and Eston (Levenia) Martin; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Donna (Larry) Waters and Lane (Janet) Millwood.
Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Michael Millwood; her parents, H.V. and Bernice Martin; and her father and mother-in-law, Amos and Doris Millwood.
Joyce dedicated 25 years of her life to teaching, touching countless lives with her patience, kindness, and commitment to helping others grow. She was deeply respected not only as an educator but as a mentor and role model to many.
She had a deep love for music and was a talented piano player. She faithfully played the piano for the Gospelettes in the 1970s, for her church, and alongside her sister Mavis. Her music was a reflection of her strong faith and brought joy to many.
She treasured traveling with her husband and especially cherished vacations spent with her family. Joyce’s greatest joy was her family—she loved her children, their spouses, her grandchildren, and most of all her great-grandchildren with all her heart.
Above all, Joyce loved the Lord with all her heart, mind, and soul. Her faith guided her life and was evident in the kindness, strength, and love she showed to everyone around her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Danielle Kies and Hospice of Northeast Georgia for their compassionate care and support during this time.
Joyce will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, April 03, 2026, in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Skinner, Rev. Jacob Millwood & Rev. Scott Sorrells officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
