Juliet Light Fountain

Our beloved Mom, “Jugee,” and friend, Juliet (Julie) Light Fountain, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, at the age of 79 after a long battle with ALS. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and countless people who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Julie had a wonderful sense of humor and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She had a true love for tennis and enjoyed playing and watching as often as she could. She was fiercely competitive and always kept score because she played to win. Her competitive spirit was matched by her ability to laugh, have fun, and never take life too seriously.

Some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by friends, playing cards, sharing stories, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. She had a way of making ordinary moments memorable and made everyone around her feel special. Her great sense of humor brought joy to everyone she met.

Above all, Julie treasured her family and friendships. She was a loving grandmother whose presence brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. She will be remembered for her generous heart, spirited personality, and the many wonderful memories she created with those she loved.

Though she is no longer with us physically, her spirit and the memories she gave us will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Julie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frances and Edwin Light; her sister, Gina Branch; and her husband, Lowell Fountain.

She is survived by her brother, David Light (Darla); son, Jeff Cagle (Kim); daughter, Susan Hines (Mark Davis); granddaughter, Sarah Pelfrey (Kyler); grandson, Clayton Cagle (Tailyn); granddaughter, Lainey Cagle; granddaughter, Ava Hines; and grandson, Jack Hines.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
