June Mathis

June Mathis, 88 of Gainesville, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. She was born to the late Charlie and Pauline Gibson in Fulton County, Georgia. She spent most of her childhood in Forsyth County, graduating from Cumming High School in 1951. She was a resident of Hall County for over 60 years.

June was the youngest of seven children and adored her siblings. She had many sweet memories of her parents, siblings, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed reminiscing about them in her later years and looked forward to the day when she would be reunited with them again. 

June was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church in Gainesville for over fifty years. She served her church faithfully and dearly loved Antioch UMC and her church family. She was retired from Reliance Electric. June was preceded in death by her 6 siblings, Grace Burton, Robert Gibson, Marcelle Chatham, Wyline Mathis, James Gibson, and Hugh Don Gibson.

She is survived by her daughters and sons in-laws, Melinda North, Emily and Robby Hulsey, Sandy and Scott Hearn; son and daughter in-law, Van and Gena Mathis; grandchildren, Albin North, Ryan Hulsey, Matt Hulsey, Michael Mathis, Eric Mathis, Sarah Hearn Duncan, Allison Hearn Lyons, Caroline Hearn; great grandchildren, Elias, Ansley, Mason, Maddox, Wyatt; sister in-law, JoAnne Gibson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, September 23, 2022, at Antioch United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Hearn, Rev. Greg Burgner, and Rev. David Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cuming, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.
