Karen Jean Dobson

With sad and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Jean Dobson. At the young age of 42, Karen passed away at her home in Cumming, GA early in the morning on April 25, 2026. Karen was born in Ventura County, CA and grew up in Somis, CA with a childhood she loved and often reflected fondly on. She graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree.

Karen embraced the spirit of serving others and looking for ways to make others’ lives better. She continued a family tradition from her grandmother of teaching swimming to children, to help them swim with confidence and be safe around water. She brought a vibrant and friendly atmosphere to those around her everywhere she went. This enthusiasm spread throughout her work, as she worked for several years as a manager of Twin Lakes RV Park in Cumming, GA. Karen implemented many improvements to the park, including adding plants and beauty to the campgrounds, organizing events, and streamlining their office systems.

Karen will be remembered for her contagious enthusiasm, her cheerful smile, her deep hugs, and her love of life. She genuinely cared about others, and many of her friends and co-workers note how Karen was always available to help them to a more positive outlook, even in the midst of trials. Her family was very important to her, and she maintained a close relationship with her parents and sister and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her eight nieces and nephews, always a very loyal Auntie with holiday and birthday celebrations.

Karen was an avid concert goer, attending many concerts each year. She enjoyed traveling and was a long time New England Patriots fan. Karen had a healthy competitive spirit and was always up for a game or a challenge.

Karen is survived by her parents, Les and Debra Dobson of Somis, CA, her sister Kristina Edmisten and husband David Edmisten along with their eight children, Kaylyn, Alexis, Jackson, Andrew, Natalee, James, Daniel, and Nate, her many aunts, uncles, cousins and brother Chago. She is loved by so many more and is missed greatly.

The family is planning to hold a private remembrance service this summer.
