Karon Slaughter Wilson, age 64 of Cumming, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Northside Hospital Forsyth. Born July 27, 1950 in Dudley, GA, Karon is preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Pennie Guest Slaughter and sister, Jeanene S. Jones. She was a homemaker, avid gardener, artist and Baptist by faith. A devoted wife, mother, Grammy and daughter-in-law. Survivors include her husband, Dick Wilson of Cumming; her children, Pennie Wilson of Lawrenceville, Rick Wilson of Dacula, Dondi Wilson of Bossier, LA; brothers and sisters, Gerald Slaughter of Dublin, Harriette S. Adams of Savannah, Kenneth Slaughter of Conyers, Clay Slaughter of Dudley, Aundrea Weldon of Macon and 4 grandchildren, Joni Wilson, David Sheets, Nicholas Wilson and Brent Wilson. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at North Lanier Baptist Church in Cumming, GA with Pastor John Lay officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception at the church following the service. The family also requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Karon's name to the North Lanier Baptist Church Children's Ministry or the American Heart Association.
