Kathy Regina Lamb Herndon, born December 29, 1952, was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose family meant everything to her.
Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Faye Ann Stephens Lamb Truelove; her father, Clifford Jefferson Lamb; and her sister, Brenda Ann Lamb Tavenier.
Throughout her career, Kathy dedicated many years of service to the United States Government, working first with the Internal Revenue Service and later with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. She was especially proud of her work on the Remedy Teams, where she played an important role in troubleshooting and resolving issues. Kathy took great pride in her work and in the many years she devoted to public service.
Family was at the heart of Kathy’s life. After living in Virginia, she returned home to Cumming, Georgia, to care for her mother, a reflection of the love, loyalty, and devotion she had for those closest to her. She loved spending time with her family, tending to her garden, and caring for her beloved fur babies, whom she loved fiercely.
Kathy is survived by her sons, Brad Reid and Steven Dykhouse; her grandchildren, Alex Lamkin (Gavin) and Dylan Reid; her sisters, Rhonda McKnight and Robin Ralph; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Kathy will be remembered for her strength, her dedication, her caring heart, and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence will be greatly missed, but the love she gave so freely will remain with those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life and memory of Kathy. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia, located at 210 Ingram Ave. Visitation hours are Wednesday, Sept. 2nd 4-9PM, and Thursday, Sept. 3rd 9-11AM. The service will take place following visitation at 11. Following the service, Kathy will be laid to rest at the mausoleum at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens, located at 1930 Dahlonega Hwy in Cumming.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who feel called to make donations to embrace Kathy’s love of animals and donate to Furkids Rescue and Sanctuary (https://furkids.org/donation) or a similar charity of your choosing.
