Kenneth T. "Kenny"
Adams
April 17, 2026
Kenneth Truitt Adams, 68, of Dawsonville, GA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, April 17, 2026. Kenny was born in Atlanta to the late Charlotte Guffey and Olin Truitt Adams.
Kenny Adams, a beloved business owner of Cumming and a resident of Dawsonville, left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy. Kenny was the proud owner and operator of Bonnie’s Florist and Greenhouse, which he ran alongside his business partner and wife, Karen. Together, they built not only a successful business but lasting relationships with many of their customers.
Kenny learned to be a florist from his mother while working at her shop, Harts and Flowers, in Clarkston, GA. He ran his own shop in Roswell for a brief time before taking over A Blooming Bouquet in Norcross, GA, with Karen. With support from their families, they officially purchased and took over Bonnie’s in 1999. Karen ran the business while Kenny created hundreds of thousands of arrangements, corsages, bouquets, centerpieces, and more over the last three decades, leaving a lasting impact on anyone who received one of his creations.
Kenny was perhaps best known for his big heart and festive spirit. For many years, he brought smiles to countless children as he faithfully took on the role of Santa Claus during the Christmas season. His warmth and genuine love for people made each visit special, even trying to learn facts about the kids ahead of time and remembering those who had visited him the year prior. He and Karen were also dedicated supporters of charitable causes, especially the Toys for Tots campaign. Year after year, they generously gave to help ensure that less fortunate children in Cumming and Dawsonville experienced the joy of Christmas. Kenny was always the first in line for the toy drive at Ingrams, always volunterring to get the bicycles on the wish list. Kenny will be remembered for his compassion, his giving spirit, and the happiness he brought to so many lives. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Karen Adams; his daughter Starr Smallwood (John) and her children Emma and Brooks; his son Kyle Lightsey (Randi Lea) and his children Parker and Reagan; his son Bryan Lightsey (Kandis) and his children Emery and and Bryce; his son Justin Adams; and his son Carson Adams (Heather) and his child Peter; along with many friends, neighbors, and community members whose lives were touched by his love and light.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Gaddis officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, April 24, 2026 from 4pm until 7pm at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Toys for Tots in honor of Kenny Adams.
