Kermitt Harris Turner

Kermitt Harris Turner, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday November 13. He was born on December 10, 1929 in Dawson County but lived most of his life in Forsyth County. Kermitt served in the Korean War in Germany and was a Mason at Matt Lodge #694 for over 50 years. He was a member and deacon at Concord Baptist Church. He never missed a Braves game, loved to fish, and was an avid gardener.

Kermitt was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Turner, parents, Jim & Lizzie Turner, sister, Allene Dover, and brother J.L. Turner.

He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Debbie & Dwight Collett, son & daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Sandra Turner, grandchildren, Matthew & Lisa Collett, Andy Turner, great grandsons, Seth & Brayden Collett, sisters, Doris Hamby, Opal Holtzclaw, Stella Dyer, brother Ivan Turner, special friends, Donald & Millie Major, most Thursday nights Donald & Kermitt were able to brag about winning a Rook game against Millie and his sister Opal. Thanks to Millie for the chocolate covered strawberries that Kermitt loved. On Sunday nights, he and his sisters, Opal & Stella, played cards as well. He looked forward to these fun times each week.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral home with Rev. Jason Hamby & Dr. Scott Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Concord Baptist Church Youth Center, 6905 Concord Rd., Cumming, GA 30028.
