Kikue King, 90, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026.
She was born on February 27, 1936, in Okinawa, and lived a long life full of love, strength, and devotion to her family. Kikue had a quiet resilience and a warm spirit that made everyone around her feel cared for.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who truly cherished time with her family. Kikue enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—playing Bingo, visiting casinos, and shopping—but what meant the most to her was being surrounded by the people she loved.
Kikue was preceded in death by her mother, Yuki Miyagi, and her husband, Orval Duard King.
She is survived by her five children: Linda (Marty) King & Lynn Merryfield, Samuel King, David King, Sherry King, and Orval King & Melissa Schneider. She was a proud grandmother to Laken Barkowski & Nick Barkowski, Zachary King, David King Jr., Nick King & Melissa Zimmerman, and Robert Silver. She was also a great-grandmother to Deacon Barkowski and Lennon Barkowski.
Kikue will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, her strong spirit, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
