Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kyle Philip Richardson, 36, of Eatonton, Georgia, who entered into Heaven on the morning of March 30, 2026.

Kyle grew up in Dawsonville, Georgia, where he graduated from Dawson County High School and developed an interest in agriculture. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College before discovering a love for welding and machinery, which led him to Lanier Technical College and a career as a millwright.

Kyle gave his heart to Jesus as a young boy and was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Forsyth County where he was loved and supported by their faithful and nurturing congregation.

Kyle was a founding member of the Dawsonville chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace under the leadership of Skip Sevier and later Patty Kurz. He used his skills and passion to serve others by building beds for underprivileged children dedicated to SHP’s commitment that no child sleeps on the floor. Patty Kurz shares, “I’m sure Skip will tell you that he couldn’t have done it without Kyle’s support. Over 900 kids have beds now because he stepped up to make the world better.” Kyle had many stories to tell of the beautiful families that he was privileged to serve through this work. He found great joy in these connections, knowing he was part of something that truly changed lives.

In his spare time, Kyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, kayaking, playing the guitar, and tinkering with his old square body Chevy truck. He loved getting together and laughing with family and friends. Above all, he cherished time at the lake with his beloved companion, Jess Gresham, and his pup, Bella.

Kyle is survived by his companion, Jess Gresham of Macon; his parents, Philip and Michelle Richardson of Dawsonville; his sister, Amanda (Kurt) Fricton of Gainesville; his grandfather, Reverend Carrel T. Pruitt of Cumming; his grandmother, Millie Richardson of Dawsonville; and nephews, Rhett and Ryder Friction. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Annette (Donny) Peck, Jenny (Stephen) Northcutt, Teresa Gonzalez, Kathy (Brad) Fairbairn, and Heather (Jason) Hanline; and his cousins, Nathan Peck, Rhonda Hansard, Daniel Northcutt, Nicholas Baumister, Candace Puebla, Michael Fairbairn, Matthew Fairbairn, Alexander Hanline, and special friend, Allen Fry.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Wonafa Pruitt, and his grandfather, Gilbert Richardson.

Kyle was a work hard, play hard, laugh hard kind of guy and will be forever missed and always remembered.

May you be blessed by Kyle’s favorite scripture: 1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Sorrells officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dawsonville chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace via the link below where there is an option to “dedicate the donation” in Kyle’s memory.
