Lamar Dennis Floyd

Lamar Dennis Floyd, age 82, of Cumming went to meet his Savior on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth Pruitt Floyd and R.T. Floyd, and also by his grandparents Amanda Harris Pruitt and T. Edgar Pruitt and Rufus and Ethel Floyd.

He is survived by his daughter, Delane Floyd Cope, his son, Brantley Lamar Floyd and his four younger brothers Lanier Floyd, Larry Floyd, Mike Floyd and Danny Floyd as well as grandchildren and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Born on March 17, 1944, he grew up farming in the Heardsville community of Forsyth County, graduated from Ducktown Elementary and Forsyth County High School and was a member of the FFA.

He worked at Beck & Gregg Hardware, Goodyear and managed several Days Inns in north Georgia.

He proudly served in the Army National Guard in Georgia and was very patriotic. He also loved playing dominos with his friends, camping, trading antiques and eating Reese’s peanut butter cups and peppermint candy. He was extremely meticulous and detail-oriented about almost everything.

Thank you to his friends and family that have been so loving and supportive of him.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, October 4th from 2-6 pm at the Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming, Ga. His wishes were to be cremated, and his remains will be buried privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, canned food or monetary donations can be made to the Meals by Grace - Food Pantry (Ministries of Grace) in Cumming or to a local charity that means something special to you.
