Laura May Taylor passed from this earth to her heavenly home Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 in Cumming, GA in the home of her son.

Laura May (McPherran) Taylor, was born July 30, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to Ira and Bertha (Krepps) McPherran. She survived her husband O. B. Taylor. She is survived by her sons, Blaine F. Taylor of Wilmington, NC, Kevin L. Taylor of Cumming, GA, six grand-children and four great-grandchildren.

Laura enjoyed family, bantering with her grandsons, music, quilting, sewing, and playing games with her girlfriends. She was an avid member of the Piecemakers Quilting Guild and taught her daughters-in-law and adopted daughters-in-law to quilt.
In her younger years, she was very active in her home church, First Evangelical Congregational Church of Akron, OH. She served as choir director, youth leader, and quiz coach, leading three generations of youth to first place in the EC Church denominational championships. Upon moving to Georgia, she became active at North Point Community Church, and Brown’s Bridge Church, volunteering with her husband as Greeters on the Guest Services Teams.


There will be an open house, ‘Graduation’ party for Laura on May 27th at the home of her son.
