Leverette Heard
Leverette Heard, age 85, of Cumming, GA, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022. He was born in 1936, to the late Homer R. and Lena Stewart Heard. He was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. Leverette always enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques. He also enjoyed going to yard sales and was always ready for a good deal or to save money. Leverette had a giving heart and loved taking care of his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, R.H. and Sylivia Heard; sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Ralph Cowart; and brother Jimmy Heard.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sallie Morris Heard; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra (Randy) Tallant; grandchildren, Jody (Lacy) Tallant, and Joanie (Allen) Fowler; great grandchildren, Layla Fowler, Wesley Fowler, Ellie Tallant and Walker Tallant; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA with Rev. Ricky Byrd and Rev. Jackie Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital in memory of Leverette.
