Lonnie (Buster) Stapp

Lonnie (Buster) Stapp, 71, of Cumming passed away Saturday, July 5. 2025, following a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Myra Stapp; sister, Shearon Stapp of Norcross; nieces, Welletta Simonton of Dacula, Michelle Nichols of Dacula; stepchildren, Leslie Nalley of Cumming, David Nalley of Cumming; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Buster has devoted the last 23 years to his “Sharing His Light” ministry, going to nursing and assisted living home sharing the word of God; he has been a blessing to many.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Brookwood Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Watson, Rev. Mark Biddy and Rev. Ray Gober officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

There will be no public viewing but the family will receive friends at the Brookwood Baptist Church the hour prior to the service.

The family wishes to thank Favor Hospice (Kunbi, Stella, Diki and others) for the excellent service Buster received and to Dr. Amit Dua for providing excellent care through all the years Buster was his patient.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Georgia Downs Syndrome Consortium in memory of Randy Boles and Keri Boles.
