Loren Vern Buysman

Loren Buysman, age 67, of Cumming, GA passed away Thursday July 16, 2026, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer that took him way too soon.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jill; his son, Sean, of Cumming, Georgia, and Sean's wife, Mary, along with their children, Owen and Charlotte; his daughter, Sara Hathaway, of Murrayville, Georgia, and her husband, Erik; his sister, Jill Hunt, of Springfield, Missouri; and his nieces. His children were a constant source of pride and joy in his life but his greatest title was “Pop Pop” to his beloved grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother.

He dedicated 30 years of his career to McKesson Corporation. After leaving McKesson, he shared his knowledge and experience by teaching at Georgia State University. Outside of his professional life, he found great joy in camping and boating with his family, creating lasting memories. He was also a talented woodworker who loved building beautiful furniture, building closet systems, adding molding, and anything to spend hours in his workshop surrounded by his many cherished tools. He & Jill even rented a booth in an antique mall where they sold many of the woodwork projects they made together. Loren would build and Jill would paint.

Despite his many professional accolades, Loren would tell you his greatest achievement in life was his children and grandchildren. A man who never said no to an opportunity for time with family, despite the tolls he endured through years of chemotherapy. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
