Mr. Loy Jackson Pruitt 82 of Cumming departed this life Monday November 11, 2024. Mr. Pruitt was born in Cumming to his parents, Alfred and Zonia (Childers) Pruitt. Loy was a lifelong resident of Cumming and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Loy was a lover of all thing’s electronic having retired from AT&T with over 50 years of employment with the company. In his later years of employment as a Research and Development specialist. Loy loved to cut grass and took great pride in the appearance of his home. He loved to work on tools, small engines, and was very meticulous with everything. He enjoyed cooking, working in the garage and spending time with family. Loy loved calling all the children in the Pruitt family “George” as a nickname and in-turn all of the children called him lovingly Uncle George. Mr. Pruitt is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Zonia (Childers) Pruitt, loving wife of over 50 years Mrs. Shirley Sewell Pruitt, siblings, Jan Singletary, Martha Mobley, Linda Chambers, Tony Pruitt and his twin brother Roy Pruitt.
Survivors include children, Lori Pruitt Chester (Glen) and Leslie Robin Ayers, siblings; Clara Harbin, Jackie Mobley (Curtis), Retha Garner (Richard), and Michael Pruitt, grandchildren, Christopher Ayers, Harley Chester (Kayla), Heidi Chester, Great- grandchildren, Zuri Ayers, Kayden Parton, Piper Chester and Octavia Chester as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be Friday, November 15, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at Ingram Funeral Home.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Loy Jackson Pruitt will be Saturday November 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Taylor, Rev. Danny Orr and Rev. Randy Richards officiating, he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Sawnee View Gardens. The following gentlemen are honored to serve as pallbearers, Harley Chester, Craig Pruitt, Reed Pruitt, Jerry Harbin, Rick Egan and Glen Chester. The family would like to give a special thank you to the following people who were always there to help in any way, Rick and Lora Egan, Faye Sewell, Ronnie Taylor and Cyndi Pruitt, “Your unwavering love and kindness will always be remembered”
