Lucretia Shook

Lucretia Shook passed away on January 27, 2023. Lou was born in Hayesville, NC on October 5, 1931. She was the second youngest of twelve children. She grew up in Hiawassee, GA where she met and married her husband of 51 years, Edwin Shook, Jr. Lou is survived by her daughter Karen Blair and son-in-law Larry, two grandsons Michael (Jessica) and Andrew (Kendall) and two great-grandsons, Bryson and Parker. Also surviving is a host of nephews and nieces. Lou loved her family dearly and cherished her time spent with them.

Lou loved attending church, gardening, and taking care of people in need, which she and Ed did most of their life. They were always there when someone needed help. Lou was famous for her pound cakes, which she made in huge volumes. She grew beautiful flowers and plants, and she loved sharing them with friends and neighbors. Lou also loved following the Atlanta Braves. Her schedule revolved around the Braves’ schedule. Lou retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. after a 21-year career.

Funeral services will be held at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming.
