Malcolm Wayne McDanal

Wayne McDanal, age 79, passed away peacefully in Cumming, GA on May 31, 2024. He was at his home with his family by his side. Wayne was from Birmingham, AL, where he met the love of his life, Linda. They married on August 19, 1966 and moved to the D.C. area after graduating from the University of Montevallo. Wayne worked for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in the Office of the Chief Accountant for 36 years. After retiring, they moved to Cumming, GA in 2005. 

Wayne loved spending time with his family. He and Linda spent much of his retirement traveling to see the world and visiting family and friends. Wayne could often be found photographing and cheering on his grandchildren doing all the activities they loved best. He enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting, woodworking, and riding motorcycles. He was actively involved as a leader in the Boy Scouts for many years. He also enjoyed spoiling his pets, Daisy and Harley.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Linda McDanal, daughter & son-in-law, Robin & Dave Neal, their children Brendan, Ryan, & Chris, daughter & son-in-law, Lora & Matt Van der Linde, and their children Timmy & Katie, and son & daughter-in-law, Steven & Christine McDanal, and their children Emma, Kevin, Abigail, & Sam.

Memorial services will be held on June 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Ingram Funeral Home with Dr. Michael O’Neal officiating.
