Obituary

Marilyn Stone, 78, of Dawsonville passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 17, 2026, after an extended period of declining health.

She treasured family beach vacations, where countless memories were made along the shore with her loved ones.

She enjoyed cheering on her favorite football teams, watching golf, and relaxing with classic westerns on the Grit channel. She never passed up an opportunity to enjoy a good meal out, especially at Olive Garden, one of her favorite places to gather with family and friends.

More than anything, she loved spoiling Carter, Coen, and Lilah, who brought endless happiness to her life. Her love, generosity, and devotion to her family were evident in everything she did.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, her love of family traditions, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. Her memory will live on in the many lives she touched and in the cherished moments shared with those who loved her most.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Lois Hughes, In-Laws Charles and Clydine Stone, brothers James Hughes and Henry Hughes, brothers-in-Law David Stone and Richard Anderson, and niece Lynn Anderson.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Stone; children, Susan Stone, Chris Stone (Shelley), brothers Gene Hughes and Michael Hughes; sisters Nina Anderson and Ann Hughes; "adopted family" Adriana (Austin) Deppe, her children Carter, Coen and Lilah; and many nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Ingram Chapel with Jonathan Kirby officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 19, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 and Saturday before the service, 12:00 to 2:00.
