Marise Joyce Simmons

Marise Joyce Simmons, 74, of Norcross, Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 11th, 2012 after a brief illness.

She is survived by her daughter Sherri, sons Cliff and Chester, daughter-in-law Gail, grandchildren Jason, Petie, Ben, Jordan and Meredith and her beloved dog, Joey.

A native of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Reece was born on November 25, 1937 to parents Masalea and Clifford Charter. She graduated from Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Florida. A 45-year resident of Atlanta, Reece enjoyed a successful career in Office Administration for a number of metro-area companies.

A car enthusiast and avid sports fan, Reece attended the Daytona 500, the World Series, the 1996 Summer Olympics, many Florida-Georgia football games and a number of championship fights. Getting to meet Heavyweight Boxing Champion Muhammad Ali was a particular highlight.

Reece spent her last few years as a resident of Decatur Christian Towers where she developed many close friendships.
