Mary Ann Harrison

Mary Ann Harrison, age 98, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Mary Ann was born April 4, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Amelia Ann Yarnivick Omundson and Paul Enock Omundson. She moved with her family to Nevada, Missouri and later to Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended Incarnate Word High School after which she worked at McGee & Nigh. It was while working as a bookkeeper, she met Lloyd Lionel Harrison, a recent Army veteran who served in Europe during World War II. They were married on February 9, 1950. They eventually moved to Harlingen, Texas, where Mary Ann and Lionel raised their three sons. She was a member of St. Anthony’s parish and eventually worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for Dr. Thomas J. Klug, M.D. until he retired in 1999.

Mary Ann enjoyed working in her garden and especially liked growing tropical plants. Lionel preceded her in passing in August 1985. She moved to Alpharetta, Georgia in 2007 to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sonya Harrison. She loved living in Georgia and thrived in her new role as live-in grandma. She spent countless hours driving carpool to her granddaughter’s dance lessons and her grandson’s sports activities, never missing a recital or sporting event. She enjoyed the beauty of north Georgia and learned all about the native plants. She was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons Daniel Harrison of Hutto, Texas, David Harrison and his wife Regina of Richardson, Texas and Kevin Harrison and his wife Sonya of Alpharetta, Georgia; three grandchildren Nicole Levy and her husband Stephen of Austin, Texas, Sarah Harrison of New York, New York and William Harrison of Alpharetta, Georgia.

The Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Brendan the Navigator Church, 4633 Shiloh Road, Cumming, GA 30040. Burial will follow Thursday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m. (CDT) at Rest Lawn Memorial Park, 14166 US-83 Bus.; La Feria, Texas 78559.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, May 22, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Boys Town, Make a Wish Foundation or St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church in Cumming, GA.
