Mary Grace Hemrick 80, of Dawsonville and Commerce passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. She entered into her heavenly home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Grace was born August 27, 1945 in Alpharetta, GA to the late Penel Lafayette and Mary Eugene Mitchell of South Forsyth before becoming Johns Creek of Fulton County.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Mitchell; brothers, General Ronnie Darnell, Bernard Mitchell, Charles Mitchell, Robert Mitchell and grandson, Anthony Ryan Hemrick.

Grace is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel Alvin Hemrick; four children, Anthony A. (Kristina) Hemrick of Cumming, GA, Mary C. (Jason) Brown of Gainesville, GA, Wayne K. Hemrick of Dawsonville and Valorie D. (Michael) Jackson of Commerce, GA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kelsey Cole of Gainesville, GA, Rachel (Ricky) DeMeyer of Savannah, GA, Aaron (Lauren) Hemrick of Cumming, GA, Hunter (Jade) Brown of Gainesville, GA and 10 great grandchildren, Caden Phillips, Brooklyn Phillips, Mikayla Phillips, Avery Phillips, Weston Shoaff, Bryce DeMeyer, Hadley Brown and three on the way, a baby to Hunter and Jade, a baby to Rachel and Ricky and a baby to Aaron and Lauren. Lastly, Grace is survived by her loving brother, Sammy Marvin Earnest Mitchell and several nieces and nephews.

Grace’s journey was a deeply personal path of motherhood filled with both immense joy and significant challenges. She was of the Baptist Faith, baptized at Clear Springs, Alpharetta, GA. Her role as the “Heart of the Family Gathering” played an important, meaningful purpose as seeing her family come together gave her much happiness,

Her marriage of 64 years to Samuel Alvin Hemrick was a testimony of her dedication, loyalty and loving strength. She loved counting her anniversary each year.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, at 12:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will be held following the service.

The family will receive friends and family at Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming, GA on Monday, January 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

A special thank you to Northeast Georgia Health System and Heart and Vascular Care, Dr. Kkeptpal for his exceptional care to Grace for the last 14 years.
