Mary Julia Orr

Mary Julia Orr, age 74 of Ellijay, GA, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Orr; son, William F. Thornton; parents, Julian and Ima Creech and brother, Billy G. Creech. Survivors include children, Joseph (Deborah) Thornton of Cumming, James Scott (Kyle) Thornton of Acworth, Mary Ruth (Rocky) Phillips of Sugar Hill; brother, Benny Creech of Cumming; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Public Radio in Mary Julia's name at npr.org.
