Mary Claire Stewart, 101, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Mrs. Stewart was born January 1, 1925 in Eatonton, GA to the late Jesse Stephen and Mary Claire Dickson. She attended GSCW in Milledgeville and lived for many years in Cornelia before moving to Atlanta and then Cumming. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Alton Stewart who passed away April 3, 2021. Mrs. Stewart was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her sons, Kirk Dickson Stewart and Steve Ellis (Sheryl) Stewart; grandsons, Jason (Stacy) Stewart and Mark (Jacqueline) Stewart; 7 great grandchildren and nieces, Cheryl Hardin, Lisa Hardin and her wife, Kara; as well a number of other relatives.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, April 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
