Michael Davis, 78, of Cumming, GA, was a loving husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend. He passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family and now worships his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity. Mike was born on October 5, 1947 in Dahlonega, GA to Moddelle (Nana) and Jack Davis who preceded him in death, as well as his brothers Sammy Davis and Clark Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Kathie Davis, his three children Lenny Davis (Connie), Tammy Smith (Carson), and Ty Davis (Kerri); and by his 8 grandchildren (his “grandbabies”), Ethan Davis, Abby Davis, Anna Smith, Elli Smith, Caleb Smith, Miles Davis, Maggie Davis, and Emmy Davis; his two sisters, Vicki Bell and Lisa Adcock; and many extended family.

Mike grew up in the Atlanta area, South Georgia, and Alabama. He graduated from Calhoun County High School in Edison, GA in 1966. Mike loved sports, coaching his kids' sports teams, hunting and fishing, and music. He attended college at Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, GA with a Bachelor's degree and later received his Master’s in Education.

Michael was a hard worker. He was in the last draft at the end of the Vietnam War (Army). In 1977 he started working for Massey Business College in Atlanta. In September of 1985, he established LTT Enterprises, Inc. while purchasing Meadows College in Albany, GA continuing his passion for proprietary education. In 1995 he purchased Gwinnett College of Business in Lilburn, GA and expanded it to 6 campuses across the southeastern U.S. He enjoyed providing opportunities for people to be educated and trained to get a job.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, October 3, 2026 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens with military honors provided by the Veterans Alliance. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 3, 2026 prior to the service from 11:00 am until service time at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association in memory of Michael Davis.
