With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Michael Thomas DiLorenzo, who was born on May 4, 2002, and passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2025 at the age of 23.
Michael was the cherished son of Chris and Ashley DiLorenzo and the proud big brother of Isabella. In addition to his parents and sister, Michael is survived by his grandparents, Tom and Carol Nalls, and was predeceased by Vincent and Patricia DiLorenzo, as well as his uncle, Paul DiLorenzo. His life was made extraordinary by the love of his family, including many aunts, uncles, and cousins, who delighted in partaking in his favorite routines and sharing in the joys that brought him comfort and laughter.
Michael came into this world with many disabilities, but those differences only made him more perfect. Each challenge shaped his radiant spirit and gave him a way of seeing life that was nothing short of beautiful.
He loved The Wiggles, Frank Sinatra, his Laa-Laa, Mr. Bean, The Three Stooges, Seinfeld, and Wheel of Fortune, and he lit up with admiration for Phil Mickelson and joy in the presence of Father Beck. Most of all, Michael loved cows. Driving past fields and eagerly searching pastures for them was one of his greatest delights.
Michael was blessed with many teachers, therapists, and caregivers who loved him with their whole hearts. They gave him endless joy and taught him to do things he was never expected to be able to learn. They joined in his daily antics of knock-knock jokes and Silent Night every day, all year round, and celebrated his victories when he would master a new skill. Their care was a gift to him, and he, in turn, gave them his unforgettable smile and loving hug.
Though his time with us feels far too short, Michael filled every moment with light, humor, and love. Today, we find comfort in knowing he is in heaven, helping the landscapers make perfect landscapes and sitting front row at a Frank Sinatra concert where, just like in life, “he did it his way.”
Michael will be forever missed and forever loved.
A memorial service will be held at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Duluth, GA on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 10:30 AM, with a reception at the church immediately following the service.
