Michael F.
Moore
September 17, 1953 – April 7, 2026
Michael F. Moore was born on September 17, 1953, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Furman and Gladys Moore. He peacefully fell asleep in Jesus on April 7, 2026, at Northside Hospital–Forsyth, following a courageous battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Furman and Gladys Moore, and his brother, Johnny Ray Moore.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lesa (Kimbro) Moore; his son, Billy Kimbro, and Billy’s life partner, Taylor Bryan; his grandchildren, Nolan and Sawyer Rogers, and Shayla and Chris Mathis; his brothers, Paul and Charlie Moore; and his sister, Dot Hayes.
Michael was a devoted follower of God and a loving husband and family man. He had a strong personality and firm opinions, yet he never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. While he loved his wife, Lesa, deeply, he also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Punkin. He enjoyed simple pleasures in life—church potlucks, time with family, and often relaxing with a TV remote in one hand and a Little Debbie snack in the other.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His passing is a profound loss to his family, friends, and church family. Yet, we hold fast to the blessed hope found in Scripture.
As written in 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 (NKJV):“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
We look forward to that glorious day when Jesus returns and we are reunited with Michael. Oh, what a reunion that will be!
