Michael James Ramey

Michael James Ramey, 56, of Auburn passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Michael answered to many names throughout his life: son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa, friend and mentor. He was a man that always there to provide a strong shoulder to cry on or a helping hand in a time of need. He loved life from the second he woke up singing "You are my sunshine!" to the moment he fell asleep. He never met a stranger, was blessed with the 'gift of gab', and could make anyone smile. He was always a pillar of light wherever he went. He was the type of man that could change someone’s mood with just a look. Loving his family was his entire existence. He also loved working on his cars and riding his motorcycle. Following in his father's footsteps,

Michael was a proud member and Officer of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge #44 in Cumming, GA. He taught us all about love and laughter. He embodied servanthood and love for his fellow man. Michael was a wonderful father to his children and stepchildren, a protective brother and a loving husband to his wife.  He was someone that everyone could depend upon. He was always there for the people he loved. The world needs more men like him. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew him.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Cline J. Ramey and his mother, MarthaDavis Nelson

Survivors include his wife, Tammi Ramey of Auburn; children, Michael and Holly Ramey, Jr. of Dawsonville, Matthew and Kayla Ramey of Canton, Jenae Wilkins of Auburn, Dustin and Brittany Wilkins of Auburn; Tessa Wilkins of Auburn; sisters, Melissa and Danny Parks of Alpharetta, Michelle Ramey of Auburn; brother, Samuel Nelson and Casandra Frost of Jefferson; 10 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorial services and Masonic Rites will be held Saturday, May 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Lafayette Lodge #44, F&AM, 100 Ramey Drive; Cumming, GA 30040
