Millie Dean Watson

Millie Dean Watson, age 86, of Gainesville passed away Friday, August 19, 2016. Millie loved her family and her children and, most especially, she loved her Lord. She was saved at the age of 10 and has been a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church for the past 76 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Taylor Watson; a son, Randall Wayne Watson; a daughter, Cynthia Lynn Watson; her parents, Carl and Ethel Mae Whitmire, and a number of brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Clark and Carolyn Watson of Dahlonega, Benny and Sheila Watson of Dahlonega, Joan Watson of Cumming, Robin Watson of Gainesville, Henry Watson of Cumming, John Paul and Camilla Watson of Dawsonville; 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Mae Bruce of Panama City, FL; sister-in-law, Lena Watson of Gainesville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 21, at 3:00 p.m. at Silver Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Rawlins, Rev. John Paul Watson, Rev. Eric Watson and Rev. Clark Watson. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Gainesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
