Monroe Leslie "Mickey" Kennedy, 72, passed away at his home on July 15, 2026, where he wished to spend his final days.

Mickey was born on February 21, 1954, in Evansville, Indiana, to Meredith Leroy "Ace" Kennedy and Maxine Mae Guthrie. He served for a time in the United States Marine Corps before beginning a career in sales. A salesman by trade, he worked in both the insurance and automotive industries throughout his career, including more than 20 years at Billy Howell Ford in Cumming.

Mickey liked to stay busy and was rarely one to sit still. He enjoyed taking walks, especially walking his dog, Luna, birdwatching, and spending time outdoors. For many years, he was a dedicated tennis player and held memberships with the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA) and the United States Tennis Association (USTA). He had a lifelong love of music, with a particular appreciation for classic rock bands like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and the Eagles. He will be remembered for his dry wit, sarcastic sense of humor, and for being a man who knew exactly who he was and lived life on his own terms.

Mickey cherished the time he spent with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. He enjoyed the moments they shared and the memories made throughout the years.

Mickey was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 26 years, Susan Elliott Kennedy; his parents; his brothers, Mark Leroy Kennedy and Monte Marlowe Kennedy; and his sister, Marlene Kennedy Stacer.

He is survived by his daughter, Alison Vigneault (Stephen); his grandchildren, Laurel and Silas; his brother, Meredith "Mitchell" Kennedy; his sister, Melissa McDermott (Tommy); his half-brother, George Wood; and many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Mickey's wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal services will be held.
