Myra Echols, a woman of unwavering faith and a beautiful force of nature, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at the age of 70. She returned to the God she so vibrantly served, leaving behind a legacy of gardening, singing, laughter, dancing, and an unbreakable spirit.
Myra was widely known as one of the strongest women you’d ever meet. Her strength wasn’t just in her resilience, but in the way she carried herself and her convictions with grace. A woman of deep devotion, she didn’t just pray, she sang. Her heart overflowing with a worship that was as natural to her as breathing. She made everything fun without even trying and could literally talk to anyone about anything. You never forgot meeting her. She praised God everywhere: in the delicate wings of a butterfly, the vibrant blooms of her garden, even when it came to the lemonade she so loved to enjoy. To know her was to be swept up in her energy; she was a woman who truly loved life and had a rare gift for making everyone around her laugh. Whether she was tending to her flowers, cheering at the top of her lungs for her Georgia Bulldogs, or sharing her lifelong love for Snoopy, she did it with a passion that was infectious. She leaves us with the memory of her song, the warmth of her laughter, and the reminder to find the joy in every day. Let’s take today to honor her in all the seen and unseen beauty she left behind. The world didn’t deserve her, and we will miss her terribly.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby, their devoted daughter Celeste and loving son, Greg; her cherished grandchildren, Brett, Brian, Nathan, Mallory, Evan, Samuel, and Penelope; and her sweet great grandchild, Olivia. Not to mention a bevy of friendships who were always there to help lift her up and leaned on her for strength.
A celebration of her beautiful, powerful life will be held in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home, at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 11, 2026, with Rev. Travis Bridgeman officiating. Interment will follow in Haw Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, at Ingram Funeral Home.
In her honor, the family suggests wearing something pink or purple as those colors made her the happiest.
