Nancy Sparks Stewart, of Cumming, GA, formerly of West Virginia, age 62, passed away on February 9, 2013. Nancy was an avid traveler and painter and she loved spending time with her grandsons, Bret and Porter. Always the social butterfly, she never met a stranger. In her younger years, Nancy appeared in off Broadway plays and later continued acting in community theater. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Hazel Sparks. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Tim Buursema of Cumming; grandsons, Bret and Porter Buursema of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Larry Burdette of Beckley, WV; nephew and wife, Rob and Kim Leeber also of Beckley and many other loving relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Cumming First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Cromartie and Rev. Kathie Stasko officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (Forsyth Fund) by going to steven.wagner@choa.org. on the web.
