Nannette Ulbricht Armstrong passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, peacefully with her family and friends after a long battle with declining health.
Nannette was born on March 15, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Tom and Betty Ulbricht. Her family moved to Atlanta, settling in Buckhead, when she was very young. She shared her childhood and life with many beloved friends, pets and her brother Tomlinson C. Ulbricht II and sister Anne M. Stinson, both of whom have loved and helped in her care until her final days.
Nannette attended college at the University of Georgia, majoring in art. She went on to marry, become a graphic artist, a gardener, and a mother to Julie and Ken. She was a dedicated friend who loved to sit around a table and “chit chat”, and there isn’t one of her friends who doesn’t say she had the biggest heart they knew.
During midlife, the graphic design industry shifted to computer graphics, so Nannette decided to ditch that career and follow her dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated in her mid-forties with a 4.0 and went on to nurse the elderly and permanently disabled. She worked in service of the vulnerable and their families until she was 75.
Nannette is survived by her two children, Julia Armstrong Landers and Kenneth Alan Armstrong II, her brother Tomlinson Carlile Ulbricht II and his wife Nancy Ulbrict and sister Anne Marks Stinson and her husband Jeff Stinson, and their children and grandchildren. Nannette leaves behind four grandchildren, Samuel Miller Stegall, Michael Thomson Stegall, Madelyn Jane Armstrong, and William Scott Armstrong. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Tomlinson Carlile Ulbricht and Elizabeth Ashmead Ulbricht.
Nannette’s celebration of life is scheduled for Thursday, July 24. Visitation begins at 2:00 p.m. and the celebration of life begins at 3:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in downtown Cumming, GA.
Attire is business casual and full of color. She would not want drab funeral clothes at her celebration–she brought color into our lives, so we will be sending her off on a rainbow.
