Neal Douthit, our hero, has passed peacefully and is now reunited with his sweetheart Penny. Neal was a persistent fellow, having served in the Marine corps, and secured a date with Penny after noticing her at the Varsity in Atlanta. In his 84 years on this Earth, Neal accomplished so much. He worked at Mathis Dairy ensuring milk was provided for the masses at the tender age of 8 years old. He then went to work for Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser where he made lifelong friends and pushed the company to be the best it could be. He was an avid huntsman and fisherman, constantly performing well in tournaments and spending time with dear friends on the lake and at deer camp. But his most prized accomplishment was raising his three girls, Lee Ann, Debbie, and Robin. Having no boys of his own, he taught his girls how to bait a hook, chop firewood, tend a garden, and so much more. He was a mentor to so many and a wealth of knowledge with most people coming to him for advice. He was the life of the party especially when he was with the Lake Family. He not only left his legacy with his girls and their husbands Doug and Terry, but also through his many grandchildren, Alyssa and Derek, Zack and Esteffy, Hunter and Katherine, Preston and Morgan, Carson and his sweet puppy, Molly. As well as his great grandchildren Easton, Mason, Charlie Neal, Maddox and baby girl Esco on the way. His legacy reaches far and wide with friends all over the country. He used to say, if you have 5 real friends you were rich. Well Neal could be considered a billionaire. He had so many friends spanning across a lifetime. We are left with a huge hole in our hearts, but have I told you lately… how much I love you?
